Each year for the past few years we have taken a portion of our tax return and stocked up on our food storage. This year we spent just under 800.00 and our shelves are full again. I was so proud of myself telling my mom that I didn't have to buy veggies in a year, or detergent, or fruits. She then told me I only got half of the spirit of food storage because you have to replace what you use so that you have a constant supply. Well....I am trying to figure it out. This is a load of food after we brought it in and the kids thought they were in HOG HEAVEN! Just don't look at the rest of the room, it was such a mess that day. Seems like everytime I clean a room the kids see it and think "Oh my, this is far to orderly, I must drop something on the floor so it looks better." I cleaned my room spotless every day for a week, and every day the kids messed it up again. MY ROOM! Not theirs, mine, where they shouldn't be messing!!!! I guess I am just a push over cuz I let them play where they want to play. There are worse things in life, and where I go....the kids follow. I did think it's funny that the things the kids are holding in the first pic was Neosporin, toothpaste and syrup. NOt the fruitsnacks, or m&m trail mix or something yummy!

I'm sooooooooooooo impressed! We have two boxes of MREs. That's our nod to food storage. I need to follow your example.
